KARACHI, 22 October 2007 – Abacus Pakistan officially launched Abacus Travel Secure with AIG, providing local travel agents and travelers easy and convenient access to AIG’s travel insurance policies.

Available for the first time in Pakistan, Abacus Travel Secure brings real time and immediate activation of travel insurance policies to the Pakistan travel industry with a more streamlined and time saving application process for travel agents.

Abacus Travel Secure provides travel agents with a seamless integrated ability to book travel insurance, with key features including:

• Reduction of paper usage and time to complete application – travel agents will no longer need to fill in carbon copies of application forms.

• AIG’s information can be easily retrieved through the DRS pages.

• Easy integration – The travel insurance segment is integrated as one of the travel components, together with reservations for air, hotel or car within the same passenger name record (PNR). This convenience streamlines travel agent’s current workflow as they do not need to book the travel insurance in a separate application.

• Mask navigation – Tabbing capabilities included for easy use. With the host-based booking masks, minimal cryptic commands are required.

• Travel insurance can be booked in Abacus Travel Secure regardless of air, hotel and car booking status.

• Improved efficiency – Abacus Travel Secure is a fully integrated segment that directly transfers all the names selected to be insured and their corresponding details, from the PNR to the booking mask. This feature ensures data accuracy and reduces duplication work for the travel agent.

• Easy to use – Once a PNR has been created, the travel agent only needs one simple command to access the host mask. After that, they can navigate effortlessly through a few input screens to process the customer’s booking. Upon End Transaction, the travel agent’s request is sent directly to AIG and within minutes they receive confirmation and can provide the policy details to their customers.

Abacus Pakistan is currently working with travel agents to facilitate training on the ease and convenience of AIG insurance bookings. Pakistan is the tenth market to bring Abacus Travel Secure to travel agents, including Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Thailand and Vietnam.
